End-of-Life announcement for Remote Control & App Lock

Remote Control and App lock features of Safehouse app have been discontinued, and these features will not be available on Safehouse's Android app after 15 Aug 2025.

Why both Remote Control and App Lock features being retired?

We strive to provide relevant security to help protect our users devices and the information on them. We've seen that many of the android phones come with inbuilt app lock. Also we saw that many of the sensitive apps are now allowing users to lock it with a PIN/fingerprint for additional privacy.

For remote control, with Android 15 update, Google's Find My Device can help you to locate your phone even if it's switched off. You can read more here and we believe Find My Device provides great theft protection at no cost.

From time to time, we assess our offerings and features to ensure value to our consumers and we found that it's the best to make our app faster and increase user privacy by requiring less permissions from our users. 

As a result, we have decided to retire both the features, and both will not be available on the app version after August 15 2025.

I have an active subscription and what if I want to keep using these features on?

We are sharing the last stable version of our app which have above two features. You can download the Safehouse APK from here. Make sure you’ve enabled downloads from unknown sources on Chrome browser in Settings beforehand and then you'll be able to download the apk. Please note that with above APK, you will be able to access App Lock, but Remote Control support will be disabled after 31 August 2025. We recommend you to enable Google's Find My Device for theft protection.
